How it reads an invoice
The date is the invoice date, not the due date or the day you downloaded it.
The company is the seller. Your own name and address on the invoice are skipped, so files aren't named after you.
The total is the amount due. If an invoice shows two totals that disagree, the amount is left out rather than guessed.
The document type stays in the invoice's own language: Invoice, Facture, Rechnung and so on.
When it isn't sure
Every name comes with a confidence score. Clear invoices are renamed straight away; anything uncertain waits in Review for one click, and anything unclear is left alone. A date like 03/04 that could be March or April is never guessed.
Every rename can be undone from Activity.

PDF invoices with real text, in English, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Italian, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Word and Excel invoices too.
Scanned invoices need Pro, which reads them with the text recognition built into Windows.

Does wtfile upload my invoices?
No. Everything happens on your PC. wtfile has no account and no cloud processing; it only goes online to check for updates (which you can switch off) and, with a purchased license, to activate it and confirm it once a day.
Can I choose the name pattern?
Yes. Free has built-in patterns such as date first or company first. Pro lets you write your own and file invoices into folders, for example one per company.
